SPIDERS v COBRAS… The Spiders and Cobras faced off on Thursday, both missing a few players.

Spiders got the jump but some magnificent moving on court by the Cobras saw Alex Rattley (Cobras) get the ball through the hoop first.

Cobras scored another two (Ben Wetherell) before Spiders had a chance to score.

Harry Dunn scored Spiders’ only goal for the quarter before Bradley Noble (Cobras) took the control back and added another to the leader board.

The score at end of first quarter was Spiders 2 - Cobras 10

Cobras passed the ball in to start off the second quarter.

Jez Schubert and Cameron Taheny have adapted well to their first year of basketball proving they are a force to be reckoned with.

Perfect defence by Corey Ainsworth (Spiders) kept Cobras scoreless in the second quarter and helped Harry Dunn add to the Spiders’ score twice and Nathan Rosenzweig (Spiders) made the score even at half time 10 all.

Spiders threw in for the third quarter and were quick to deliver thanks to Nathan Rosenzweig (Spiders) but Cobras answered with an enertaining goal.

Harry Dunn did his bit to get Spiders ahead in the third quarter but the Cobras and their 'we're not giving up attitude' saw both Luke Whitehair and Bradley Noble score a goal each.

Going into the fourth quarter, the score stool Spiders 16 to Cobras 14 and it was still anyone’s game.

Spiders threw in again but Luke Whitehair (Cobras) scored before they knew what had happened.

Nathan Rosenzweig (Spiders) was given the advantage of a shooting foul but fell under the pressure.

To make it up he then regained possession and shot a great goal.

It would have been enough but Bradley Noble (Cobras) got his hands on the ball and shot two goals in quick succession.

Player mentions: Harry Dunn 10 points (Spiders), Bradley Noble 8 Points (Cobras).
