PORT LINCOLN v KIMBA…On a hot day at Ravendale, Kimba won the toss and had no hesitation in batting.

Harley Pahl and Fraser Kessling opened the batting and Pahl was firs to go, bowled by Murray for a duck.

This brought the dangerous Blaire Buchanan to the crease who was dropped on the first ball he faced at slips.

Kessling was aggressive, but was next to go when the score was on 35 and his score 27.

Buchanan looked good as always until he feathered a ball to wicket keeper Melzner.

This sparked a mini collapse - Rhyse Rayson two, James Cant two, Kevin Dart three, Justin Thomson zero and Jayden Rayne one, all fell quickly and with the score on 8/56, a partnership was required.

Tylor Inglis showed some aggression in the lower order to finish on 19 not out.

Trent Larwood gave good support to make six and Jordan Kenny was last out without scoring.

Kimba were all out for 86 and had the runs on the board.

Best bowlers for Lincoln were Jamie Waters who finished with three for 21, Max Bail two for 17 and Zeik Kay two for eight.

Now it was Lincoln's turn to bat with Sam Shore and Riley Hains opening the batting.

Kimba had to bowl well to protect their total and this they did.

Wtihin a blink of an eye or reaching for another drink, Lincoln were 3/3.

Sam Shore, zero, Zeik Kay a first ball duck and the aggressive James Lakin also a duck were all out in the first four overs.

Worse was to follow, when Hains was brilliantly caught at slip and Scott Forrest caught off a top edge for two.

At 5/24, Kimba's score was looking better all the time.

David Murray showed plenty of determination and held the innings together and Kosta Sheehy gave great support, showing great concentration.

Murray received a painful blow to the lower part of his body. After recovering he spooned the next ball to mid-on and was out for a well compiled 26.

The score was now 6/46 and Kimba were still right in the game.

Zac Melzner joined Sheehy and these two batsmen showed great maturity for their age and guided the side to the required runs.

Sheehy remained 19 not out and Melgner 17 not out and had a partnership of 46.

Standout bowlers for Kimba were Lachy Inglis, 3/20, and Rhyse Rayson, 2/25.

Kimba, although let down by batting, certainly made up for it with their bowling and fielding to give themselves a chance.

Two awards donated by Wendys were won by David Murray from Port Lincoln and Lachy Inglis from Kimba.

Kimba 10/86 lost to Port Lincoln 6/92
