CLEVE v KIMBA… Having come from fourth position, this match between underdogs, Cleve, and minor premiers, Kimba, was going to be an interesting one. In the hot and windy conditions, Kimba got off to a flying start, scoring easily off their first few centre passes and overturning Cleve’s. They took a quick 6 –2 lead with their attackers moving the ball effortlessly into Theresa Girdham in goals, who capitalised on every opportunity.

CLEVE v RUDALL… Third time lucky saw the A Grade preliminary final played in almost perfect weather for the match between Cleve and Rudall on Saturday.

Championship finals were completed on Sunday and again the winds blew. The 2009 club champions are Liz Zwar and Paul Cox who had good wins over Nita Colman and Peter Arnold respectively.

CLEVE v RUDALL...At half time I’d written the headline. Cleve led Rudall 6-3 to 3-4 and the game was all but over, the second half would be a mere formality. Somebody must have leaked the story to the players because that’s about how they played and they very nearly blew it.

KIMBA DISTRICTS v CLEVE…It was an unchanged Kimba that put the previous week’s disappointment behind them; they quickly regrouped to easily account for a disappointing Bomber outfit.
02 Sep 09 | A total of 22 players representing Pt Lincoln, Kimba, Lock, Darke Peak, Kyancutta, Cleve, Coffin Bay and Cummins Golf Clubs played a stableford competition on a day that almost had every thing in weather - calm periods, very gusty winds and short but sharp showers.
The main thing was that all said they enjoyed the course and the day, but that some scores left a bit to be desired.

KIMBA DISTRICTS v RUDALL…Kimba, having lost just two of their minor round games (when, arguably, due to rotations, they probably don’t field their strongest side every week) would start warm favourites for this match and they duly saluted.

KIMBA DISTRICTS v RUDALL…Through shrewd management of their player list, Rudall included a number of players with A Grade experience for their clash with the unbeaten Tigers and they delivered another grand final appearance to the Rams faithful flock.

KIMBA v COWELL…Kimba were comfortable 10 goal winners in the second semi final played in Kimba against Cleve, which in turn earnt them the right to the first position up for grabs in the A Grade 2009 grand final.

KIMBA v COWELL…These two teams only played each other a month ago but it was an almost unrecognisable Kimba side that would attempt to reverse that forgettable 74 point loss at Cowell.
