Local artists ready for exhibition

18 Feb, 2010 09:48 AM
Members of the Cowell Art Group have been getting inspired to paint, in readiness for upcoming annual art exhibtion.

Members have completed group projects to give an added interest to the exhibition which will be officially opened on Friday night, February 26, 2010.

With many of the people visiting last year’s exhibition asking for more paintings based around a sea theme the group has been painting many variations and styles based upon those requests.

There will also be a big variety of the styles which have become a benchmark for the group.

The official opening will be held on Friday night, February 26, with drinks and nibbles to be served.

Invitations are on their way.

“We have been pleased that we are now getting enquiries from Adelaide and throughout the state to find out when we are having the exhibition,” local artist Johanna Sampson said.

“It is proving to be a drawcard for the town.

“Once again there will be well over 200 new paintings to look at.

“Our Art room has also been given a face-lift to set the tone for our year’s work.”
