Police investigations are continuing into the death of 42-year-old Cleve man Dwayne ‘Finny’ Finn at the weekend.
Finny was killed as the result of a single vehicle crash on Saturday night, October 31, 2009, when his car left the Arno Bay Road 17km south of Cleve at around 7.30pm, rolling over and into a tree.
Ambulance services were called to the site by a community member and Finny was transported to Cleve Hospital and died soon after.
No other people were injured in the incident but excessive speeds and lack of seatbelt are believed to be contributing factors to the local man’s death.
Finny was a long-time Cleve resident who worked locally as a mechanic and was active in the sporting and dirt circuit communities.
Finny’s death was the 99th on South Australian roads this year with the road toll rising to 101 over the weekend as compared with 80 at the same time last year.
He is the second man to die in a vehicle-related accident in the Cleve district in the past two years.
SAPOL Major Crash investigators attended the scene and will continue to delve into the cause of the accident.
