Lock Area School will host a Crazy Hair Day on Thursday, March 18, where students have been asked to pay a gold coin donation to attend school with crazy or coloured hair and casual clothes.
Terry White Chemist in Port Lincoln has donated six cans of coloured hair spray to be used as a fundraiser, with students paying to have their hair coloured. Funds raised at the event will go to fellow student Harrison ‘Harri’ Wright. Harri is participating in the ‘Be Brave and Shave’ for the Leukaemia Foundation’s ‘World’s Greatest Shave’ this week.
The shave will take place on March 18 due to Sports Day and other school activities during the week of the shave. Harri will have his hair shaved at school at 1.10pm by local hairdresser Anne Siviour. Everyone is invited to come along and support this cause and by donating on the day or donations can be made to Cathryn Wright (Harri’s mum) at the Lock Health Centre.
Harri decided to support this worthwhile cause after his Poppy was diagnosed with cancer last year. Harri spent time with his Poppy as he underwent surgery and said he hoped his fundrasing would ensure that ‘no one else would have to get sick’.
